not silence.

Someone amazing told me I should blog about my favorite music right now, and I am doing so. Listening to records last night with Jared and Kirsten definitely reminded me of how much more wonderful music truly is on vinyl, also it made me miss my dad really bad.
My dad and I will literally sit around and paint/draw while listening to music for hours on end, while we pretend we're the only two people left on earth. It's quite magical.

I discovered Laura Veirs when they were opening for Blind Pilot here in Portland a few months ago. Love!

Lauryn Hill, I've listened to this cd non stop since it came out, and it never gets old. ever.

I listened to Madrugada all through art school, and I'm proud to say they are fellow Norwegians. I love this band oh so much. Art school was the happiest of times, but I usually dig this one out whenever I am feeling down, or whenever I am having one of those super rainy, lazy craft days.

My mom and I listened to City and Colour on repeat for 2 weeks straight last summer. Great album, great memories. <3

Believe it or not, Motley Crue is one of my all time fave bands. Oh yeah. I used to rock the metal hair and tight black everything. Awesome.

Interpol, not a single day passes without me listening to either one of these two albums. Can't decide which I like better, so I had to pick them both. Need I say LOVE!!!

What are some of your favorite albums?

xoxo.

If you ever get the chance and haven't already... you should listen to Imogen Heap and Frou Frou. Imogen was in Frou Frou but then later became a self titled artist. Some songs I can recommend would be Hide and Seek, Speeding cars, and angry angel. :) Imogen is my all time favorite. Hope you like her if you don't already!

p.s. check her out on youtube. She is fun to watch

I love Laura Vier's Carbon Glacier! There are two songs in particular that get me every time: Ether Sings and Icebound Stream.

I pretty much listen to nothing, but female sing/song writers, or female fronted bands these days.

If you haven't already, give My Brightest Diamond, Nina Nastasia [and Jim White], and Mirah a listen. Of course, Fiona Apple is an all time favorite, and my soulmate.

I saw Laura open for Blind Pilot too! I can never pin down favorites, they're always changing... But my all time favorite band is Jimmy Eat World, and other really high up there bands are Lucero, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bon Iver, and I really like Yeasayer right now... <3

I also listen to Interpol and have been a fan for years. I've never seen them live though!

Do you ever listen to Editors? They are pretty similar and make some good music.

I think you would like the band Metric too.

I love The Arcade Fire, TV on the Radio, Grizzly Bear, Doves, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Eisley. You probably have heard all of them. :-)
